Hey! My name is goyo and I have been competing in Rocket League since March of 2018. Since then, I have hit top 100 globally, achieved a peak of 2070 MMR, and placed in the top 48 teams of NA. I have been SSL for many seasons and placed in the top 100 global players in competitive 3v3, hoops and dropshot, peaking at #37, #67, and #7 in each respective playlist. I have over 6,000 hours of experience divided between competing, coaching, and training.

My coaching experience is incredibly diverse. I have thousands of coaching hours spent with brand new players and up to high SSLs, including serving as the head coach at Omnius Gaming - a main event team in SSA RLCS. Additionally, I was previously a coach at Cloud9’s Training Grounds where I helped develop players of all ranks. I have worked extensively in the collegiate scene, serving as the head Rocket League coach at universities such as George Fox University and Irvine Valley College. As a collegiate coach, I assisted Cal Poly in finishing top 8 in the nation during the Spring Showdown. I currently coach in the RLCS for Omnius Gaming, who has peaked at 9th in the region and qualified for every main event in the Spring Split.

Coaching and helping others has always been a passion of mine that has roots back to traditional sports, where I was a youth lacrosse coach. Beyond esports, I am currently a graduate student obtaining a master’s degree in psychology that I utilize during sessions to sharpen the mind of my students as well. I truly enjoy the challenge of assisting players on their journey of improvement and I am confident that I can help you too!

A typical session with me involves first asking questions: what are you looking to get out of the session? What are your goals? What can I do to best help you achieve those goals? Once we have identified those, we will analyze a replay or two of yours from a playlist of your choosing. Throughout the session, you will be involved in discussions. It is important to consider your perspective on the game to effectively make adjustments.

During the replay, we will also examine key, repeat mistakes that will be the most impactful for your growth. However, you will not be bombarded by mistakes. You will come away understanding not only where you need to improve, but also where your strengths are.

Finally, we will end off the session by analyzing the best mechanics for development as a player. Although being a coach, I have high level mechanics that allow me to effectively teach and demonstrate difficult skills - because I have been through the learning process myself!

Players often are incredibly grateful for the new perspective that I provide to them. I have spent countless hours in off-meta and meta playstyles alike that have given me a unique viewpoint on how Rocket League should be played.
